Gary, Tina, Kara and Brian,
You have all been in my thoughts and I extend my deepest sympathies over the loss of Linda, a beautiful wife, loving mother and wonderful person. It is difficult to process such a tragic and sudden passing, but I've also had some smiles thinking about Linda and the old days at Grandpa's: All the times spent playing pinochle at the big kitchen table- she was a very good card player. I think my dad and the brothers used to jokingly tease her a lot during games- but she would dish it right back at them! She was very funny and had a sharp wit. As a little girl I always thought she had the prettiest hair and makeup and always wanted to sit next to her or on her lap.
One memory I keep coming back to is of when I was about 6, there was one weekend when I got to stay at Linda and Gary's house as the ONLY kid! (As a middle child this was a big deal.) We had so much fun and and I thought Linda was the coolest aunt for letting me swim in their pool in my clothes because I had forgotten my bathing suit. I think I spent hours that weekend fascinated by her special case of sparkling crystal figurines. When Linda showed me her collection of Teddy bears, which encompassed an entire room, I swore I would never go home!!
Tina, Kara and Brian- when each of you were born Aunt Linda was very patient and would let us hold and cuddle you as babies. My sisters and I were so excited to have baby cousins we wanted to help her take care of you all the time, and even though I'm sure it was way more work for her, she always let us be involved! She was a really wonderful mother and the love and devotion she had for you, her children, could not be mistaken.
I fell out of touch by the time Jalen and Jordan were born, but it is clear Linda was an incredible grandmother, too. I remember her most deeply as loving and kind with a great sense of humor. She will be missed so much. Wishing you all peace, strength and love in this sad time.
