Shepard, Carmen M. (nee Novo) - August 24, 2017 - Died peacefully after a lengthy illness. Beloved wife for 55 years of the late James V. Shepard. Loving mother of Deborah (Stephen) Zybeck, Janice (Keith) Rosehart, David (Cheryl) Shepard, Nancy Shepard and Laurie (William) Provin. Dear grandmother of Emily, Melissa, Hillary, Adam, Jon, Gary, Teresa, Shannon, Melissa and Katie. Great grandmother of 15 great grandchildren. Sister of Amelita (late Robert) Roth, Helen (late Donald) Murray and the late Raymond (Jane), Emil, Lucy (Edward) Volland, Pauline (Donald) Kasper, Manuel (Shirley) and James (Shirley) Novo. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Carmen was a devoted parishoner of Blessed Sacrament Church for 60 years. She was dedicated to her large family and many friends, was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Her sense of humor and infectious laugh will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at the C. Mertz and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 911 Englewood Ave. on Monday from 4 to 8 PM. All are invited to attend a Mass of Chrisitan Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church (263 Claremont Ave.) on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Please assemble at Church.
